Hoba Meteorite, looking north

While you circle the Hoba, you will again and again
notice traces of sawing, drilling and smelting to obtain
samples of the meteorite. Some of these samples were
taken for scientific purposes, but most of them originate
just from early tourists or are signs of sheer vandalism
and trophy-hunting.
